An ultra-wide zoom characterised by a bright and advanced optical design, Fujifilm's XF 8-16 mm f/2.8 R LM WR has a lens equivalent to 12-24 mm with a constant maximum aperture of f/2.8 for constant performance throughout the zoom range. The optical design consists of six extra-low dispersion elements, including three Super ED elements, which help to virtually eliminate chromatic aberrations and color edges for greater clarity and color accuracy. Four aspherical elements are also used to suppress distortion, field curvature and spherical aberrations to improve sharpness. In addition, a Nano-GI coating helps control the phantom image effect and brightness to improve color contrast and fidelity when working in intense lighting conditions. As a complement to the optics, there is a refined linear motor, which offers a fast and quiet auto-focus performance, and the lens body is sealed against the weather in 11 different locations to help work in difficult environmental conditions.
The impressively-shaped zoom is designed for cameras without Mount Mirror at FUJIFILM X and provides an equivalent focal length range of 12-24 mm.
