An elegant and versatile prime, the Sony E-mount AF 45mm f / 1.8 FE from Samyang is a normal-length cousin characterized by its compact design and its brilliant maximum aperture of f / 1.8. The optical design incorporates a pair of aspherical elements and an extra low dispersion element, which help suppress spherical and chromatic aberrations to improve sharpness, color accuracy and clarity. An Ultra Multi-Coating has also been applied to reduce glare and phantom effect to achieve greater contrast when working in strong lighting conditions. In addition, the linear lens STM autofocus motor works in conjunction with the AF systems of Sony cameras for fast, quiet and accurate focusing performance, and manual focus override for finer control is also available.

The compact compact of normal length is designed for cameras without mirrors with frame E full frame of Sony, however, can also be used with the APS-C models in which provides an equivalent focal length of 67.5 mm.
