The Gitzo GK2542-82QD Kit Mountaineer Series 2 is a kit consisting of a Mountaineer GT2542 Tripod made from carbon fiber, and a GH3382QD Center Rod End. The Gitzo GT2542 Series 2 Carbon Fiber Tripod is a lightweight, 4-piece, reliable support for a DSLR with lenses from 200mm to 300mm.

This professional tripod has eXact carbon tubes with longer and stronger leg diameters, with an upper diameter of 29.0 mm and lower legs of carbon fiber, making it stronger than other tripods in its segments. The central column of the tripod is easy to remove, transforming it into a floor stand, thus allowing photographers the widest possible perspective. It also has a reversible column mechanism.

The Gitzo GT2542 four-point leg, is secured with Ultra Twist G-lock Locks, with an integrated "O" ring, which keeps dirt and dust out of the mechanism. The top of the tripod, was recently designed to provide additional rigidity.

It has an additional stabilizing hook in the central column to increase stability and weight if necessary. The removable foot allows the tripod to be adapted to any type of surface. A wide range of heads and other accessories can be mounted easily, through the 1/4" and 3/8" connections at the top.
