Sigma 24-35mm f / 2 DG HSM Art Lens for Canon EF
Sigma has expanded its ever-growing Global Vision line with the world's first constant f / 2 aperture in a full-frame zoom lens, the 24-35 mm f / 2 DG HSM artistic lens, available here with the lens mount Canon EF. The innovative aperture combined with the versatile 24-35mm wide-angle focal length allows photographers to easily replace three common lenses, the 24mm, 28mm and 35mm, with a gear. The lens also offers exceptional control over depth of field with an aperture range from f / 2 to 16, and when used in camera bodies APS-C has an equivalent focal length of 38.4-56.
Along with the rest of the Art series, the 24-35 mm offers high quality optics with the use of a low dispersion "F" and seven special elements of low dispersion glass, in addition to two aspherical lenses. This system minimizes the appearance of the spherical aberration, the axial chromatic aberration and the curvature of the field. There is a super multilayer coating to reduce the brightness and phantom for sharp, high-contrast images, and can focus as close as 11 ".
In terms of speed, this lens is equipped with a Hyper Sonic AF engine that is almost silent and has an optimized auto-focus algorithm for fast and accurate tracking. The 24-35 mm body is constructed of a thermally stable composite material that works well in all conditions. The cannon also has a focus ring with full-time manual grants and the system is designed for a completely internal approach. Ensuring even more optimal performance is the support for the Sigma USB base for firmware updates and AF microadjustment.
As part of the Art line within the Sigma Global Vision series, this lens is designed to achieve truly remarkable optical performance and is ideal for creative and artistic applications.
The wide-angle focal length of 24-35 mm effectively covers three common lenses: 24mm, 28mm and 35mm. This allows users to shoot with a single lens and not worry about carrying additional equipment or changing the optics in less than ideal weather conditions. When used with an APS-C format sensor, the lens offers an equivalent focal length of 38.4-56 mm.
The maximum aperture of fast f / 2 is suitable for working in low light conditions and also provides greater control over the focus position when using shallow depth of field techniques.
This lens has been designed using an advanced optical structure to achieve high resolution and sharpness, along with constant edge-to-edge illumination. A pair of aspherical elements corrects the sagittal coma flash, distortion and axial chromatic aberration, while allowing full use of the fast maximum aperture of f / 2 with peripheral brightness and sharpness maintained.
An FLD and seven SLD glass elements were incorporated into the lens design to correct chromatic aberrations throughout the focus range and help ensure high sharpness, clarity and contrast of the image, regardless of focus point or configuration opening.
A super multilayer coating has been applied to the lens elements to minimize the reflection and ghost image of the lens and contribute to producing contrast-rich and neutral-color images, even in backlight conditions.
The integrated HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) performs a fast and silent autofocus, which is complemented by an optimized AF algorithm to produce smoother focusing performance. The HSM also allows manual full-time focus control by simply turning the focus ring at any time.
A round nine blade diaphragm helps produce an attractive quality out of focus.
The lens is constructed with a thermally stable composite material (TSC) along with traditional metals for greater precision and use in wide temperature variations. The exterior of the lens cylinder is also engraved with the year of production.
The included sun visor is equipped with a rubber connection for a secure fit.
This lens is compatible with the optional Sigma USB cradle to adjust the different lens characteristics and update your firmware.
