With a single zoom that covers a wide range of 10x, the Sigma 60-600mm f / 4.5-6.3 Canon EF EFG sport lens is a versatile optics well suited to a variety of subjects, including portraits, sports and wildlife. Its advanced optical design incorporates an SLD element and three FLD elements, which help to greatly suppress chromatic aberrations and color edges throughout the zoom range to improve clarity and color accuracy. A super multilayer coating has also been applied to individual elements to control the flashes and the phantom effect when working under intense lighting conditions.
Complementing the optical performance is a Hyper Sonic engine that provides fast and silent autofocusing performance, along with an intelligent operating system that minimizes the appearance of camera shake up to four stops. The physical design of the lens also incorporates several seals to protect against dust and moisture, and a water and oil repellent coating was applied on the exposed elements to prevent moisture, fingerprints or smudges from adhering to the surface.

As part of the Sports line within the Sigma Global Vision series, this lens is designed to offer excellent optical performance, speed and other customizable features that make it an ideal choice for wildlife, sports, action and other subjects of rapid movements.
Wide-ranging super telephoto zoom is designed for full-frame Canon EF-mount cameras, however is also suitable for APS-C models where it provides a 96-960mm equivalent focal length range.
One Special Low Dispersion (SLD) element and three F Low Dispersion (FLD) elements are featured in the optical design and help reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations for improved clarity and color accuracy, as well as spherical aberrations for reduced distortion and improved sharpness throughout the zoom range.
A super multilayer coating has been applied to the lens elements to minimize the reflection and ghost image of the lens and contribute to producing contrast-rich and neutral-color images, even in backlight conditions.

The elements of the front and rear lens have been treated with a water and oil repellent coating to benefit the work in adverse environmental conditions.
The rounded nine-leaf diaphragm contributes to a soft and pleasant bokeh quality.
The integrated HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) performs a fast and silent autofocus, which is complemented by an optimized AF algorithm to produce smoother focusing performance. The HSM also allows manual full-time focus control by simply turning the focus ring at any time.

An intelligent optical stabilizer system minimizes the appearance of camera shake in up to four stops to benefit from sharper images when a handheld is triggered.
The lens is constructed with a thermally stable composite material (TSC), together with traditional metals, for greater precision and use in wide temperature variations.
