Positioned as a workhorse lens among Sony's E-mount full-frame mirrorless systems, the Sigma 24-70mm f / 2.8 DG DN Art is a versatile wide-angle to vertical-length zoom characterized by its constant maximum aperture f / 2.8. The bright design adapts to work in available lighting conditions and also allows greater control over depth of field. The optical design incorporates a series of low dispersion and aspherical elements that greatly reduce a variety of aberrations for high sharpness, improved clarity and improved color accuracy. Super Multi-Layer and Nano Porous coatings have also been applied to improve contrast and color reproduction by suppressing lens flare and ghosting when working in bright lighting conditions.
Complementing the optical attributes, this lens also has a progressive AF motor, which produces fast, accurate and remarkably quiet autofocus performance. At the wide end of the zoom range, a maximum magnification ratio of 1: 2.9 accommodates working with close-up subjects, and an 11-blade diaphragm contributes to pleasing bokeh quality. In addition, a weather-sealed design benefits working in difficult environmental conditions.

The standard zoom is designed for Sony full-frame E-mount mirrorless cameras, however it can also be used with APS-C format models where it will provide an equivalent focal length range of 36-105mm.
