The lens construction incorporates four partial anomalous dispersion elements and an aspherical element to control chromatic aberrations and distortions of remarkable clarity and sharpness throughout the aperture range

A floating element system is also used for consistent performance when working with near subjects and distance. An improved Zeiss T * anti-reflective coating has also been applied to significantly reduce the ghost and flare effect of the lens to improve contrast and colour fidelity when working in difficult lighting conditions

This 50mm f/1.4 lens is designed for full frame Canon EF digital reflex mount, and can also be used with APS-C models, where an equivalent focal length of 80mm will be offered
