Calibrite Color Checker Classic
The ColorChecker® Classic graphic is designed to provide realistic color reproduction so that photographers and filmmakers can predict and control how colors will appear in any lighting. The frame is ideally sized at 215.9 x 279.4mm, well suited for photographers and filmmakers.
The ColorChecker Classic chart can be used in many situations:
Digital photography: image checking, white balance correction and color corrections,
creating custom ICC or DNG camera profiles
Film Photography: Film, Lighting, Filters, and Paper Control
Video: checking cameras, lighting, etc. .
Graphic arts: verification of printing or proofing processes
ColorChecker graphics are ideal for creating custom camera profiles (DNG and ICC), setting proper exposure and neutral white balance, and are the benchmark for color correction.
Each chart provides an objective comparison reference to help you determine the true color balance of any color rendering system. It enables you to compare, measure, and analyze differences in color reproduction across multiple processes, eliminating time-consuming or costly errors.
The ColorChecker table consists of 24 scientifically developed reference color patches and has been the industry standard for over 40 years. It is designed to provide accurate color reproduction so that photographers and filmmakers can predict and control how colors will appear under any lighting.
Each of the 24 ColorChecker colors represents the true color of natural objects such as skin tones, foliage, or sky blue. Each bulb reflects light in the same way as its real-life counterpart, under any lighting and with any process. Each color is formulated to produce a pure, rich and flat color.
Color perfectionists have used ColorChecker graphics for the past decade to create custom DNG profiles for Adobe Lightroom® and Photoshop® workflows.
You can also create custom ICC profiles for Capture One® (or any other ICC compatible software) by combining a ColorChecker with Calibrite ColorChecker Camera Calibration software. You'll get colors that are accurate at the time of shooting, taking into account the specific lighting, camera, and lens of each shot, saving you valuable time during touch-ups.
Using the ColorChecker table is very easy! Just snap it onto your photo or video and then when you edit, use the graph to compare, measure and analyze the differences in color reproduction in any color reproduction system.
The chart can help you make corrections based on accurate information. If you take a large number of photos that require the same color correction, you know that editing some photos and changing them can lead to unwanted color shifts. Capturing the ColorChecker chart in the same light as your photos will give you a point of reference so that you can see exactly how your changes affect the rest of the colors before applying them. This way, you can see exactly how the changes affect the rest of your colors before applying them.
This objective reference table will save you costly and time consuming trial and error when ordering colors or working with your images.
