The Fujinon XF 16-55 mm F2.8 R LM WR offers sharp images at all focal lengths and at any aperture, something to which the use of Nano-GI (Gradient Index) technology has contributed, a new lens coating that fights ghost images and flashes even more effectively.

Its optical scheme consists of 17 elements distributed in 12 groups, among which are three elements of aspherical lenses that keep distortion and spherical aberration under control. On the other hand, the three elements of ED glass lenses reduce lateral chromatic aberration (present at the angular end) and axial chromatic aberration (present at the tele end).

The diaphragm of the Fujinon XF16-55 mm F2.8 R LM WR is composed of nine rounded opening blades, which promise a smooth and circular blurring. A greater harmony of the bokeh, both in the foreground and in the background, is possible thanks to the efforts to suppress the spherical aberration.

Fast and silent autofocus

If we attach this zoom to a body capable of autofocus by phase detection (X-E2, X-T1...) is possible an AF speed of only 0.06 seconds. The linear motor allows an autofocus not only fast, but also very silent and precise.

Metallic and sealed construction

The construction of the Fujinon XF16-55 mm F2.8 R LM WR is at the height of the "professional" label and boasts a completely metallic exterior. Its barrel is hermetically sealed at 14 points, which makes it dust and splash resistant and allows it to operate at temperatures as low as -10°C.
