Fujifilm GFX 50S medium format mirrorless camera
Characterized by its large sensor, advanced image capabilities and modular design, the Fujifilmes GFX 50S a unique medium format mirrorless camera that is highly versatile and clearly portable. The heart of the GFX camera system is the 51.4MP 43.8 x 32.9 mm CMOS sensor, which combines with the X-Processor Pro image processor to produce files with an extremely wide dynamic range and high resolution, as well as an extended sensitivity range of ISO 50-102400 to work in difficult lighting conditions. The sensor's large form factor also achieves an appearance appearance of ISO 50-102400 to work in difficult lighting conditions. The sensor's large form factor also achieves an extended sensitivity range of ISO 50-102400 to work in difficult lighting conditions.
51.4MP CMOS Sensor and X-Processor Pro
Utilizing a large 51.8 x 32.9 mm CMOS sensor and X-Processor Pro, the GFX 50S is capable of delivering high resolution 14-bit still images with a wide dynamic range of 14 points, as well as a wide sensitivity range of ISO 100-12800, which can be extended to ISO 50-102400. The large size of each pixel allows for more efficient light collection, too, for smoother tonal and color transitions to produce a characteristic three-dimensional "medium format look". It also contributes to several aspects of medium format, it is also contributed to several aspects of medium format, it is a characteristic "medium format look".
The image processor and sensor also provide a versatile system advantage, allowing continuous shooting up to 3 fps or for recording Full HD 1080p video at frame rates of 29.97, 25, 24 and 23.98 fps. Film simulation modes, including a color chromatic effect to produce a subtle hue between highly saturated colors, can also be used in conjunction with video recording to decrease the need for color correction during post-production.
Body Design
-
The magnesium alloy body construction is lightweight and durable, and the chamber system is sealed at 58 locations to be weather and dust resistant, as well as freeze up to 14° F, for use in inclement conditions.
-
Based on a modular concept, a 3.69m removable OLED electronic viewfinder for high-resolution viewing with 0.85x magnification is included, and can be combined with an optional EVF-TL1 adapter to position the finder in a variety of working angles.
-
The removable EVF connects to the camera body through the contact shoe, and the EVF features its own shoe to maintain compatibility with optional external flashes.
-
Also available is a 3.2" and 2.36 m LCD touch screen for image reproduction, menu navigation and live viewing. This LCD features a unique tilt design that moves 45° down and 90° up to shoot from high and low angles, and also tilts 60° to one side to benefit shooting in vertical orientation when live.
-
A series of dedicated dials are placed around the body to independently adjust the aperture, shutter speed and ISO.
-
The aperture ring on GF lenses and the ISO dial on the camera have a C (Command) position, and the Shutter release dial has a T position, to allow adjustment of these settings through the front and rear control dials.
-
A 1.28" sub LCD monitor is also included on the top plate for confirmation of settings and exposure data.
-
The NP-T125 rechargeable lithium-ion battery includes approximately 400 shots per charge when automatic power saving is activated.
-
Built-in Wi-Fi allows direct wireless file sharing as well as remote control of the camera from a linked mobile device.
117-point autofocus system
A contrast-sensing autofocus system using 117 total points, which can be divided into 425 points, is employed for remarkable focusing speed and precision that are especially beneficial when working with the inherent medium-format depth of field. Focus point selection is possible using the integrated Focus Lever to intuitively switch between points and, alternatively, the rear touchscreen can also be used to select precise focus areas. Face and AF eye detection are also available to benefit the portrait, and an electronic depth-of-field scale can be used for a portrait, and an electronic depth-of-field scale can be used for a portrait.
Other camera features
-
The Fujifilm G lens mount features a short focal flange distance of only 26.7 mm for easy lens adaptation and allows reduced rear focus distances to better avoid vignettes and promote end-to-end sharpness with the GF lens series.
-
The film simulation modes allow you to reproduce the look of several of Fujifilm's film types, including Provia, Velvia, Astia, Classic Chrome, Pro Neg, Hello, Pro Neg, Standard, Acros, Monochrome and Sepia. In addition, the grain effect can be adjusted, as well as the classic Chrome effect to adjust the look of the images.
-
The mechanical focal plane allows working with shutter speeds from 60 min. to 1/4000 sec. and an electronic shutter allows the use of shutter speeds up to 1/16000 sec. to work in bright light conditions.
-
It is possible to shoot at intervals of up to 999 consecutive frames with 1 second. at 24 hours of delay between exposures as well as up to 24 hours of shutter delay.
-
Multi-exposure mode allows you to take two consecutive overlapping frames, and the first frame will be displayed on the rear LCD screen to aid alignment for the second exposure.
-
They feature two UHS-II SD memory card slots, and allow you to save images sequentially, backup/duplicate, or in an orderly manner to segregate JPEGs and raw files.
-
A variety of file formats are available depending on your workflow needs, including compressed and uncompressed raw file types; Super Fine, Fine, and Normal JPEG settings; and TIFF files can be generated through the development of raw files in the camera.
