Simple vertical operation
The VG-C4EM includes controls practically the same as those of the camera body. The location, size and shape of the buttons have been optimized and are of the same material as those of the α7R IV body. The result is that the operation, placement and especially the feeling of the controls simulate those of the camera body when held vertically.
Firm and secure grip
The ingenious grip design allows you to hold the camera firmly. The vertical grip allows you to take pictures easily and without problems, regardless of whether you hold the camera vertically or horizontally, which makes it easier to focus on the subject and the composition.
Duplicate effective operating time
The VG-C4EM has space for one or two NP-FZ100 batteries. With two batteries, the camera will work almost twice as long as when using one. The remaining battery is shown on the LCD, in percentage. When one battery runs out, the camera automatically switches to the other, which prevents it from stopping working.
Recharge the batteries or supply power via USB
Vertical grip batteries can be recharged through the camera's USB port, without disassembly. And for long photo shoots, the power can be supplied directly to the camera through the USB1 port using a portable battery or an AC adapter, which will complement the battery.
Lightweight, but tough magnesium alloy body
The exterior of the VG-C4EM is manufactured with the same magnesium alloy as that of the body of the α7R IV chamber, to offer the same strength as this and, despite this, not occupy more space or weigh more.
Reliable dust and moisture resistance
The camera's grip attachment is of the same sealing material as the body to prevent dust and moisture from entering. This improves the overall reliability of the camera system.
Notice
Simultaneous installation of this unit with the LA-EA2 / EA4 mounting adapter is not supported. If both are installed at the same time, the reduced space between the unit and the lens mount adapter will make it difficult to hold the grip.
