Samyang XEEN CF 50mm T1.5 Pro Cine Lens (Canon EF Mount)
Much new, tested and optimized
The XEEN CF series of XEEN cinema lenses are characterized by the surprisingly small dimensions of the individual lenses and their extremely low weight. With approximately 40% less volume and 20-30% less weight compared to previous lenses, it opens up completely new possibilities for filmmakers. The world's first cinema lenses for CF lenses used a carbon fiber lens tube - hence the name: Carbon F Iber. Absolutely high-quality workmanship combined with low weight are a great advantage of the XEEN CF lenses.
8K resolution, full-frame image circle
XEEN CF lenses provide 8K resolution and 43.3mm image circle. This means that full-frame cameras can also use these lenses, as can professional cinema cameras like the ARRI Alexa and Alexa Mini, Canon EOS C700, Sony Venice, or RED Helium and Dragon. Cameras with larger sensors, such as the ARRI Alexa LF and RED Monstro, can use the XEEN CF lenses in most modes, but not with Open Gate. Of course, smaller sensors like APS-C and APS-H can also be used with XEEN CF lenses.
Broad range
XEEN CF lenses are available with PL, Canon EF, and Sony E mounts. Variable image aspect is another feature of these lenses' versatility: with the aperture open, you get the typically smooth vintage look of older lenses, which Often referred to as "creamy": warm and balanced skin tones, soft and subtle bokeh, harmonious halos of light. This effect decreases continuously until opening T2.8. From here, the image becomes clear and "sharp": crystal-clear contrasts and sharp corners make it possible to capture sober, fresh and lifelike images. In combination with ND filters, a completely different look can be achieved with just one lens.
Ready for every shot
details like the luminescent letters on the side of the lens make working on set much easier. The sprockets of the Follow Focus systems are now slightly wider, the teeth higher and with rounded corners. The brilliant 50mm T1.5 XEEN CF has internal focus and is versatile.
Like all XEEN CF cinema lenses, this one has a resolution of 8K and its design is identical to that of the other lenses in this line. This means that the overall length, the case diameter and the position of the aperture and focus ring are exactly the same for all models. This means that changing lenses, whether on the platform or on the tripod, is quick and easy, even with the Follow Focus system installed.
As usual with cinema lenses, this XEEN CF lens also has infinitely adjustable, grid-free aperture, distances and aperture values that can be read from the side, as well as gear wheels for focusing with Follow Focus. With a diameter of just 95mm (instead of 114mm as before), the lens diameter has also been significantly reduced. Therefore, the price-performance ratio of the XEEN CF lenses is excellent.
Use and quality
This range of lenses is also ideal for use on gimbals, drones, or car rigs. Sharpness is already convincing when the aperture is fully open and can be precisely controlled via the 200 ° long focus path. The closest focusing distance is 45cm, the aperture travel is 40 °. The exact weight, exact dimensions and more information can be found in the technical data.
