The manual focus design lets you work with subjects up to 3.6 'away, and a rounded nine-blade diaphragm delivers pleasant bokeh quality.
The main portrait length is designed for full-frame EF mount Canon cameras, but can also be used with APS-C models where it provides a 136mm equivalent focal length.
The fast maximum aperture of f / 1.4 offers a high degree of control over depth of field for working with selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques. In addition, it also benefits to work in low light conditions with shorter shutter speeds.
