Sony HVL-F28RM external flash
Compact and powerful radio controlled wireless flash
Designed by Sony for large photos
The HVL-F28RM offers exceptional performance and stability with the a7 series.
It offers versatile features and detailed control, as well as reliability in a compact portable unit.
An ideal GN28 flash for compact hybrid devices
The flash head and internal configuration of the HVL-F28RM have been redesigned to reduce size and increase portability. Although it fits in a pocket, the HVL-F28RM provides similar output to the high-quality HVL-F45RM at the same lighting angle. It can be used effectively under reverb conditions in a wide range of shooting situations.
High reliability and durability in a compact flash unit
A metal claw base with a sturdy side frame
The Multi Interface Claw features a new metal claw base with a sturdy side frame to significantly increase strength and reliability.
Dust and moisture resistant design
Like Sony's high-end flashes, the HVL-F28RM is dust and moisture resistant to meet the demands of professionals, even in tough outdoor environments.
An effective overheating prevention system
An optimized flash control algorithm provides excellent flash performance while effectively preventing overheating for long-term stability and reliability.
Full control from the camera
Flash compensation, light ratio, and other detailed flash settings can be controlled directly from a compatible camera.
A custom camera key can be assigned to display the flash setting screen. Flash settings are displayed in the display language selected by the camera.
State-of-the-art features and control in one portable unit
Direct light adjustment
Dedicated buttons directly control light output and flash compensation. The light output of the other associated wireless flash units can also be adjusted in this way for a smooth workflow.
The HVL-F28RM also includes the same ultra-fast sync, multi-flash, and other flash functions as the HVL-45RM and HVL-60RM.
Wireless radio operation for versatile shooting
The HVL-F28RM provides stable wireless radio communication. An HVL-F28RM that will function as a remote control can be mounted on a compatible camera and combined with a second HVL-F28RM external unit that will function as a receiver. Radio communication provides reliable communication over greater distances than optical communication, even in sunlight or when there are obstacles between the camera and the subject. When used as a remote flash control, the HVL-F28RM can control up to 15 flashes and / or receivers in 5 groups at distances of up to 35m for extraordinary lighting control versatility.
Reliable external control with any configuration
Compatible external flash units or receivers pick up radio signals, even in bright light and obstacles, and even when installed behind the camera. This results in more uniform results without coupling errors.
