More info
Nikon Z 6II Mirrorless Digital Camera with 24-200mm Lens Kit
More speed, more versatility, more performance, the Nikon Z 6II is an updated version of the all-terrain mirrorless camera designed for high-end photo and video applications. Despite many updates, the Z 6II retains its familiar form factor and prized image quality to benefit working multimedia imagers.
With a 24.5 MP BSI CMOS sensor and dual EXPEED 6 image processors, the Z 6II features a greater buffer depth and faster continuous shooting speed, up to 14 fps with single-point AF or single-point shooting. 12 fps in other focus modes. Video recording is possible in UHD 4K 30p, or up to FHD 120p for slow motion output, and external recording gains 10 bits along with N-Log and HLG (HDR) support. The sensor is also suited to working in a variety of lighting conditions, with a sensitivity of ISO 100-51200, and 5-axis vibration reduction on the body reduces the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting. . Additionally, the sensor also incorporates a 273-point phase-detection AF system, which now supports eye-detection AF in wide-area AF modes and during movie recording, and enables focusing in low-light conditions up to -4.5 EV.
Balancing the images, the Z 6II retains its overall physical design, however it has been updated with a new dual memory card slot interface to hold a Type B CFexpress card and a UHS-II SD card for more flexible storage. Both a 3.6 million-dot high-resolution OLED EVF and a rear 3.2 ", 2.1 million-dot tilting LCD touchscreen provide versatility in image composition and playback, and SnapBridge wireless connectivity can be used for remote control of the camera, sharing images with a mobile device, and even wireless firmware updates.
Firmware version 1.10 unlocks UHD 4K recording at 60p and 50p frame rates, enables raw video output to external Blackmagic Design Video Assist recorders, and improves eye detection performance when using auto-area AF modes. and wide-area AF.
Second generation Z
Building on its initial efforts, Nikon has revised the Z 6 platform to offer more speed, faster processing, and greater versatility without sacrificing the beloved qualities of the original camera.
Dual EXPEED 6 image processors offer higher buffer performance, 14fps faster continuous shooting speed, and significantly reduced blackout times in the viewfinder.
Updated autofocus now includes Human and Animal Eye and Face Detection in wide-area AF mode for photo and video recording.
It is now possible to shoot with long exposure time of up to 900 seconds (15 minutes) without the need for an external remote control.
Dual memory card slots offer more flexible file storage capabilities; one CFexpress Type B slot and one SD UHS-II slot allow for overflow, segregated and repetitive savings options.
The USB Type-C port enables in-camera charging or continuous power for on-the-go charging or long shooting times.
The direction of rotation of the focus ring on the lenses can be changed to suit one's familiarity.
Support for HDR (HLG) mode when recording externally provides instant HDR-capable video files for immediate playback. N-Log is also available for better control during post-production and sorting.
The future firmware update will add UHD 4K 60p recording, in addition to the current 30p frame rate.
Eligible for an optional ProRes RAW upgrade, which enables the camera to output ProRes RAW footage to a compatible Atomos external recorder. This update provides greater color grading flexibility with the ProRes codec along with the ability to output uncompressed 12-bit raw footage over HDMI. This update will be available in early 2021.
SnapBridge wireless connectivity can be used to update camera firmware, rather than relying on a memory card-based update system.
Updated creative shooting modes include multiple exposure, 20 different picture control settings, and in-camera time-lapse recording. There is also a focus shift mode for recording up to 300 sequential frames with the focus position shifted between exposures for focus stacking applications.
Compatible with b pack
Optional MB-N11 power battery for longer battery life and better handling.
24.5MP FX-format BSI CMOS sensor and dual EXPEED 6 processors
A 24.5 MP BSI CMOS sensor is used for full shots, impressive low-light quality, and fast read speeds to benefit continuous shooting, movies, and interval recording. The sensor's backlit design offers remarkably clean high-sensitivity output to reduce noise when working at high ISO values, up to native ISO 51200, as well as vivid, smooth quality at sensitivities as low as ISO 100. Sensor benefits are Dual EXPEED 6 image processors, delivering blazing speed across the entire camera system, including the ability to shoot continuously at 14 fps for up to 124 consecutive frames.
UHD 4K video recording
Utilizing the attributes of the sensor and the processor for more than still images, the Z 6II is also a more than capable multimedia camera. UHD 4K video recording is possible with full pixel readout up to 30p and Full HD 1080p video recording also supports up to 120p for slow motion playback. Video files can be saved to camera memory cards or as an uncompressed file to an optional external recorder via HDMI output.
Advanced video capabilities have been added with the Z 6II, including N-Log gamma to capture flat-looking footage that maximizes dynamic range and HLG (HDR) to record HDR-ready footage. Other additions are the ability to output high-quality 10-bit data over HDMI and an electronic VR feature for smooth manual capture. Focus Peaking can be used to benefit manual focus control and a Zebra Stripes option is also available to help detect overexposed areas within the frame. Audio recording can be handled using the built-in stereo microphone or an optional external microphone can be added via the 3.5mm stereo jack for greater control over quality, and live monitoring is possible via the headphone jack.
Firmware version 1.10 unlocks UHD 4K recording at 60p and 50p frame rates and enables raw video output to external Blackmagic Design Video Assist recorders, and also improves eye detection performance of Auto-area AF and Auto-area AF. wide area.
273-point phase detection AF system
Located on the sensor is an array of 273 phase detection autofocus points covering 90% of the image area both vertically and horizontally. This provides fast and accurate focus for both still images and video, and with a wide coverage area, subject tracking will work all the way to the edges of the frame. Hybrid AF is available for video, which will automatically switch between phase and contrast detection systems to provide smooth focus during shooting. Additionally, the latest NIKKOR Z lenses are optimized for quiet operation.
Vibration reduction
5-axis sensor shake reduction on the body compensates for up to 5 stops of camera shake regardless of which Z-type lens is used. This system also works with adapted F-mount lenses, when using the optional FTZ adapter, where 3-axis stabilization is used.
Body design
A large 3.2 "2.1 million dot LCD screen is available for bright, clear and vivid image reproduction and live image shooting. The screen has a tiltable design to benefit working from high angles and bass, and it's also a touchscreen for more intuitive operation, navigation, and setup control.
A 3.6 million dot OLED electronic finder is present for comfortable viewing at eye level. It has a high magnification of 0.80x and uses NIKKOR optics to ensure a sharp and clear image. The finder also has a fluoride coating for easy cleaning.
The top panel of the Z 6II is configured with a dot matrix OLED. This energy efficient display provides quick access to important camera settings.
Configured with a CFexpress Type B / XQD memory card slot and a UHS-II SD card slot, flexible file storage is possible with the option of using repetitive, overflow, or segregated storage methods.
A robust magnesium alloy chassis is dust and weather resistant to benefit working in harsh climates and inclement conditions.
The ergonomic grip and overall form factor are designed to benefit handling over extended periods of time and accentuate You can do even more with a non-slip material and joystick for perfect setup and focus point selection.
Built-in SnapBridge connectivity to enable seamless low-resolution image transfer as well as remote shooting capabilities. BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and Wi-Fi enable communication between the camera and a smart device, and the mobile device can remotely release the shutter and display a live image from the camera to allow remote work. Additionally, SnapBridge can also be used as an easier method to update camera firmware.
