Leica MA Camera (Typ 127) Rangefinder (Black) Ref: 10370
Focusing on the foundational principles of photography, the Leica MA (Typ 127) is a 35mm film rangefinder camera characterized by its simplicity and discretion. As a fully mechanical camera, no battery is required for operation and the only exposure control offered is a shutter speed option, up to 1/1000 sec. A large, bright 0.72x viewfinder is combined with a precise rangefinder mechanism to allow comparative manual focus control with M-mount lenses, along with a parallax-corrected compositional frame. The body features black chrome top and bottom covers, as well as an all-metal body design, to offer both durability and a minimal aesthetic appearance. Designed for intuition and efficient operation, the precision offered by the MA serves to complement a direct working method.
The classic 35mm film rangefinder features a large, bright 0.72x magnification viewfinder.
Fully mechanical operation does not require a battery and allows you to work only with the basics of photography: shutter speed, aperture, and film speed.
A rear ISO dial can be used to indicate the speed of the film in use.
The upper shutter speed dial allows speed selection of 1/1000 sec. at 1 sec., with a bulb setting also available for long exposures. Flash sync is available at all speeds up to 1/50 second.
The hot shoe incorporates a center contact for compatibility with a wide range of flashes.
Compatible with all M-mount lenses that vary in focal lengths from 16mm to 135mm.
The frame lines of the image field are automatically activated with each lens mounted and provide an accurate and parallax corrected reference for image composition. Alternatively, image field lines can be selected to preview the composition of other focal length lenses.

Viewfinder
Type Bright line frame viewfinder with automatic parallax correction
Calibrated eyepiece at -0.5 dpt (optional corrective lenses available)
Parallax correction The horizontal and vertical displacement between the viewfinder and the lens axis is automatically compensated according to the relevant distance setting
At the shortest possible distance for each focal length, the size of the bright line frame corresponds to an image of approx. 23 x 35 mm. When set to infinity, depending on the focal length between 9% (28mm) and 23% (135mm), the film captures more than what is displayed in the corresponding bright line frame
