Rode RODELink Newsshooter Kit Wireless digital camera mount microphone system without microphone (2.4 GHz)
The Rode RODELink Newsshooter kit offers journalists, vloggers and DIY reporters a cost-effective digital wireless microphone system with a simple plug and record operation, clean and reliable sound and multiple power options.
The Newsshooter Kit features a plug-in transmitter, along with a flask transmitter and a camera-mounted receiver. The add-on is designed to work primarily with handheld microphones for interviews with men in the street or with shotgun microphones for the wireless boom. Its XLR connector provides 48V phantom power, which gives you the option of using it with condenser microphones (microphones are available separately). This versatile unit can also be used as a flask transmitter simply by connecting a lav to the additional 3.5 mm microphone input.
RODELink operates anywhere in the world in the 2.4 GHz spectrum, far from possible radio and television interference. For ease of use, the transmitter and receiver are paired at the factory. Just turn it on and go.
The system connects to your DSLR or mirrorless camera, allowing you to capture audio for projects ranging from YouTube vlogs and wedding videos to corporate locations and red carpet-style interviews. Up to eight systems can operate in the set.
Plug-in transmitter with XLR and 3.5mm microphone inputs
Built with a plastic and metal chassis protected by a rubber coating, the plug-in transmitter connects to any dynamic or condenser microphone equipped with an XLR connector. A locking ring secures your microphone firmly in place.
The second microphone input has a 3.5 mm TRS locking connector and provides plug-in power, allowing you to use it with the headphone microphone or of your choice. Note that you can only use one of the microphone inputs at a time.
The controls allow you to activate phantom power, choose an input and set its gain, mute the microphone and control the volume of the headphones.
Each entry offers an adjustable gain, allowing you to set the best level for delivering your talent, be it a whisper or a scream.
The front cover slides over the controls to turn off the screen, save battery, protect the controls and make the plug as discreet as possible in the camera.
The included leather case allows you to use the plug as a flask transmitter, while allowing you to see the screen and access the controls.
Receiver with OLED display
The lightweight receiver (at 6.7 oz) features easy operation with a single button for basic controls, and a detachable shoe with a rounded base that allows you to conveniently place the unit on top of your camera.
The included cable connects the receiver's output to the 3.5mm audio input of any digital or mirrorless SLR camera. Alternatively, the 3.5mm VXLR to XLR adapter (available separately) allows you to connect your system to the XLR input of a camcorder or recording device.
The receiver features a high performance level with three-stage gain adjustment that allows you to lower the camera's gain, to obtain cleaner recordings with less whistle.
Conveniently, the receiver's OLED screen shows critical information for the receiver and transmitter, including battery status, signal level, mute status and channel selection for both units.
Simple and flexible operation
The transmitter and receiver arrive pre-paired and automatically look for a clean frequency when you turn them on, which saves you the trouble of scanning and synchronizing before shooting.
The system uses an intuitive multifunction button for quick on and mute functions.
More advanced controls on audio levels, additional pairing and channel selection are also available.
Clean and reliable sound
RODELink uses the 2.4 GHz Series II digital transmission, which constantly monitors and jumps between frequencies to maintain a clean transmission, in a range of up to 330 '.
To ensure clear communication, the system sends the audio on two separate frequencies (frequency diversity) and uses the cleanest signal.
The system transmits a strong signal at the selected frequency to overcome the interference even in busy 2.4 GHz (Wi-Fi) environments. For optimal performance, users are encouraged to maintain a line of sight as direct as possible between the transmitter and the receiver.
To offer high-quality wireless audio, the system offers a resolution of 24 bits / 44.1 kHz, a wide frequency response of 35
