Se fabrican usando los mismos barnices y acabados que las lentes Zeiss del objetivo a fin de conseguir una combinación perfecta Claridad cristalina: los filtros UV con el revestimiento antirreflectante T* de Carl Zeiss proporcionan una protección óptima al elemento delantero del objetivo. Los Filtros UV garantizan un brillo excepcional, son totalmente transparentes a las longitudes de onda de la luz visible, por eso no modifican la representación de los colores ni el tiempo de exposición. Son ideales como filtro estándar para todo tipo cámaras analógicas y digitales, protegen la lente frontal del objetivo, de la suciedad, el polvo, las salpicaduras de agua, huellas dactilares y arañazos. La toma de fotografías con un alto grado de luz UV con los filtros Zeiss ayuda a reducir bruma de luz y permitir mayor saturación de color (por ejemplo, tomas de larga distancia, en las montañas o en el agua).
