Its main innovations compared to previous models are the following:

• Shortcut button to a wide range of creative toolsThe OM-5 Mark II puts the power of advanced photography at the touch of a button. Strategically located next to the shutter on top of the camera, the computational photography button allows you to instantly activate creative functions such as high-resolution shooting, Live ND, focus stacking, HDR, and multiple exposure, all without the need to navigate through menus. More inspiration, fewer interruptions.

• Charging via USB-C port: This new model incorporates a convenient USB-C port, which not only allows for fast transfer of photos and videos but also provides direct power so we don't have to stop. Compatible with portable power banks (optional), we can recharge your camera wherever we are and continue capturing our best moments throughout the day without worrying about the camera's battery life.

• New shooting modes: With this mode, the OM-5 II camera allows you to reveal the invisible. 20.4 MP Live MOS sensor and TruePic IX image processor

The Live MOS sensor with a resolution of 20.4 MP and the TruePic IX image processor come together again in the OM-5 Mark II, working together to offer agile shooting performance, a sensitivity range up to ISO 25600, 4K video recording quality, and a continuous shooting speed of up to 30 fps in Pro Capture mode. With this feature, users can press the shutter halfway to start capturing moving subjects even before the final shot.

Fast, accurate, and silent AF system with phase detection

This new mirrorless model with an MFT sensor incorporates an advanced autofocus system that combines 121 phase-detection AF points and 121 contrast-detection points, ensuring fast and precise focusing in a wide variety of situations. The phase-detection points, all cross-type, significantly enhance accuracy even in complex or mixed lighting conditions, offering more reliable subject tracking. Additionally, the camera offers multiple focus modes tailored to different scenarios. For example, the group target mode with 25 points is specifically designed to track moving subjects, such as birds or wildlife. Face and eye detection functions are also available for more precise portraits, as well as a specific AF mode for starry sky photography. This is complemented by custom AF area settings, allowing focus adjustment independently for vertical or horizontal orientation shots.

5-axis image stabilizer

The OM-5 Mark II incorporates an in-body image stabilization system based on sensor shift, effectively reducing camera vibration by up to 6.5 stops, regardless of the lens being used. This stabilization is especially useful when working with telephoto lenses, macro photography, or long exposures, where even the slightest movement can affect image sharpness. The system operates on five axes, compensating not only for vertical and horizontal angle rotation but also for vertical and horizontal shifts, as well as the rotational movement of the camera. When combined with compatible lenses featuring optical stabilization, the compensation can reach up to 7.5 stops, providing a remarkable improvement in stability. Additionally, this technology perfectly complements functions like High-Res Shot and Hand Held Assist, allowing for incredibly detailed and sharp images, even in low-light conditions.

Excellent video recording

The sensor and processor of this outstanding new tool allow recording videos in 4K DCI (4096 x 2160) and UHD (3840 x 2160) quality. When working in DCI format, the camera offers a true frame rate of 24p, while in UHD 4K it can reach up to 30p. To capture audio, you can use the built-in stereo microphone or connect an external microphone through the available connector, which significantly improves sound quality. The camera allows recording videos without time limits, as long as there is enough storage space and battery life. Additionally, it features a time-lapse movie mode that records in resolutions up to 4K UHD. When connected to a compatible device via a USB-C cable, the camera can function as a webcam with UVC/UAC support. During recording, the rear LCD screen displays a red rectangle indicating that it is recording, and a red light on the front also turns on to signal that the video is in progress.
