Cactus V5 Wireless Flash Transceiver

The redesigned wireless Cactus V5 transceiver (Cactus V5), like its predecessors, is powerful and reliable, ideal for photography of any kind, boasting a new transceiver design and powered by 2 AAA 1.5V batteries. Each Cactus V5 unit can be used either as a transmitter or as a wireless flash receiver. Now, different transmit/receive combinations are possible and give photographers more flexibility and control of their studio systems.

The Auto Frequency Adjustment (FST), a new state-of-the-art function, allows the Cactus V5 to automatically adjust to the last frequency used when exposed to extreme weather conditions, such as sudden temperature changes.

The multi-channel trigger, another new function, allows up to 4 types of light sources to be fired simultaneously, all controlled by a single transmitter unit and a camera. This is very practical in situations where multiple sets of flashes, normally connected through different channels, have to be fired at the same time.

  • Cactus V5 does not work with V4, V2s or V2.
  • Cactus V5 does not transmit TTL information.
  • The Cactus V5 does not work with Canon ELAN 7E, 10D, 300D (Digital Rebel / Kiss Digital).
  • Some dedicated flashes (e.g. Nissin Di-622 and Di-466 (versions for Canon and Nikon), Sunpak PZ42x and PZ30, Sigma EF-530/500 DG ST for Canon, etc.) are fired through a specific contact, instead of the central contact of the shoe. Cactus V5 does not work with these models. To check that your dedicated flashes are compatible with Cactus V5, try attaching them to a camera of another brand (e.g. a Nikon TTL flash to a D-camera D).
