Venus Optics offers photographers the first native option to start in the world of wide-angle macro photography with the Laowa 15mm f / 4 Macro Lens , available here for Sony full frame A mount cameras. previously, the wide-angle macro required the use of extension tubes and other solutions, but now the Laowa 15mm Macro offers a true 1:1 magnification without the hassle. the ultra-wide perspective of full frame cameras allows users to exceptionally approach their subjects with a minimum focusing distance of only 4 subjects with a minimum focusing distance of only 4mm.

Optically, it is designed to minimize the distortion affecting wide-angle lenses with the use of an advanced 12-element in the construction of 9 groups with extra low dispersion and three high refraction elements. a low-reflection multi-layer coating further improved image quality by reducing the appearance of flashes and ghosts. in addition, when used in APS-C cameras, or in cropping modes, the lens offers +/- 6 mm of vertical shift that can help correct perspective when shooting objects such as buildings.

Complete manual operation is required for this purpose by using a physical aperture ring with a range of f/4 to f/32 and a large focusing ring. A flat front element provides space for a 77mm front filter thread to use a selection of specialized filters to enhance your scene. in addition, it has a diaphragm of 14 almost circular blades for blurred smooth elements and comes with a parasol.

Ultra wide viewing angle of 110° on full frame cameras.

The wide-angle lens offers an equivalent 35mm focal length of 22.5mm with a viewing angle of 85° when used in APS-C camera bodies or in trimming modes.

Wide opening range from f / 4 to f / 32.

The lens construction features 12 elements in 9 groups with 3 high refraction elements and one extra low dispersion element.

Minimum focusing distance of 4.7" with a minimum working distance of only 0.2".

Manual focus and aperture control.

When used with APS-C cameras, the Laowa 15mm Macro can use +/- 6mm of vertical displacement to help correct perspective.

The true 1:1 magnification allows photographers to capture life-size images of their subjects while providing infinite focus for use as standard wide-angle lenses.

14-leaf quasi-circular aperture diaphragm provides blurred smooth elements.

Accepts 77 mm threaded filters.
