Ready for the night shoot.
The incredible light-capturing capabilities of this camera allow you to create with any type of light. You'll get clean full-frame images across the ultra-wide ISO range when shooting stills and clean results when shooting video. Low-light AF now works down to -6 EV with an f/2 (or faster) lens. You can focus even by the light of a waning moon.
Much brighter.
The hybrid AF system allows you to capture subjects in the moment. You can shoot images at up to 14 fps at full resolution with full autofocus and auto exposure. When speed is crucial—and it always is—you'll capture images that others might not.
Double the power.
Whatever you do with light, do it faster and more smoothly. Dual EXPEED processors provide double the power for everything from AF to buffer capacity. Performance is silky smooth, whether in video recordings or still images.
More speed for longer.
The faster, high-performance buffer allows you to shoot up to 200 JPEG images or 124 12-bit uncompressed RAW images in one burst. It offers a high refresh rate so you won't miss a second, and dual EXPEED engines ensure lightning-fast recording speed.
Dual card slots for a smooth workflow.
With two memory card slots at your disposal, you have room to adapt to any workflow. Separate still images from videos or RAW images from JPEGs. Copy files from one card to another. Set up backup and reserve slots. You can use UHS-II SD cards in one slot and XQD or the new ultra-fast CFexpress cards in the other.
Never stop.
Shooting interviews? You can power the camera via a USB-C cable and even charge the battery while shooting. The camera keeps going even during long takes.
Vertical shooting.
The optional MB-N11 power battery pack features integrated controls for vertical shooting. And you can hot-swap batteries without turning off the camera.
Multimedia Power.
If you are a videographer, this is your Nikon. The full-frame sensor and full-pixel readout of the camera allow for a wider dynamic range and cleaner, sharper video footage. The AF speed and tracking sensitivity can be adjusted during recording; additionally, you can use the Eye-Detection AF and Animal-Detection AF during filming. Flexibility in recording speed gives you more options, and you can deliver footage in the way you need.
RAW Format in HDMI.
Maximum control in post-production. Faster data transfer. The Z 6II lets you connect to a compatible external recorder with ATOMOS to export video in ProRes RAW® format, preserving all the data from the camera’s full-frame sensor in smaller files.
10-bit HDMI Output.
Gain more flexibility in color grading. Recording video at a great depth of 10 bits allows you to recover many more colors than with standard 8-bit recording. With the Z 6II, you can record the 10-bit output directly to an external recorder via HDMI.
Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG)
No more time wasted on color grading, and you can shoot video footage that can be played immediately on HDR screens. The camera’s HLG shooting format retains greater detail, dynamic range, and contrast with no need for post-processing.

Thanks to a very robust and lightweight magnesium alloy structure, the Z 6II is easy to carry and tough enough to use anywhere. Remote Shooting.
Use the WR-R11b wireless remote controller and the WR-1 wireless remote controller to shoot remotely or control external flashes, such as the SB-5000.
High-Speed Flash.
You can use external flashes even when shooting at frame rates of up to 14 fps. Achieve greater depth and dimension: illuminate the entire frame at a specific moment.
