FAST autofocus system with small lens AF
Benefiting from the fast shooting performance of the E-PL7, a contrast detection focusing method employs 81 AF areas throughout the sensor to acquire focus quickly and accurately. aptly named, FAST (Frequency Acceleration Sensor Technology) can focus on subjects using continuous or single-shot focusing methods, as well as AF tracking to benefit work with moving subjects. in addition, there is small objective AF that can be used to acquire focus in a smaller area to increase accuracy.

when working with manual focus, maximum focus is available for acquiring focus in a smaller area to increase accuracy. when working with manual focus, maximum focus is available for acquiring focus in a smaller area to increase precision. when working with manual focus, maximum focus is available for acquiring focus.
VCM image stabilization in 3-axis body
VCM (Moving Coil Motor) image stabilization in the body helps minimize the appearance of camera shake by up to 3.5 stops with any lens in use; in addition, this unique image stabilization system works on three axes, compared to the two conventional axes, and compensates for vertical and horizontal shifts (yaw and tilt), as well as camera movement along the optical axis (roll); this range of detected movements serves to benefit traditional still image shooting, as well as movie recording and working with still images; as well as film recording and working with optical axis (roll).
Full HD video recording
Capable of recording 1920 x 1080p video at 30 fps, the E-PL8 gives users another creative method for capturing images.
