CANON 10X32 IS

The Canon 10x32 IS Image Stabilized Binoculars, which adapt the IS system from their line of EF lenses, employ a lens-shift system that uses a combination of a vibration gyroscope mechanism and microprocessors that detect and counteract the appearance of hand shake by moving the internal lens assembly so the image appears stable. Two IS modes allow you to adapt performance to the situation: normal IS is ideal for moving or multiple subjects, while powered IS enhances stabilization when observing a single stationary subject. An intuitive two-button user interface makes mode selection simple and easy. The IS operates on two included AA batteries and, when image stabilization is not in use, the optics will function as a conventional pair of binoculars.

As for the optics, the binoculars are made with traditional Porro prisms and an integrated field-flattener lens that corrects spherical aberration to achieve distortion-free views, especially at the edges. Canon's patented Super Spectra coating is used to limit color bias, lens flare, and ghost images, while maximizing light transmission, color rendition, clarity, and contrast across the entire visible spectrum. With this new IS system, the close focus distance has been dramatically reduced compared to previous models using a different IS mechanism.
